- Fifty-something years old, which makes me Generation X, not a freaking Boomer like the younger generations think about anyone older than they are.
- I care about humanity, about people's freedom, about the environment, about fairness, about basic rights, and the ability to live without involving ourselves into an unfair system of capitalism that implies one needs to earn one's own existence. If that makes me "woke", like the term hijacked by fascists as a pejorative, then fine, I'm "woke". I like the terms "intelligent", "compassionate", and "giving a damn" better.
- I play bass guitar badly. Okay, maybe decently for a few things, but mostly badly. I love straightforward rock music from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and early 90s, but will listen to pretty much anything.
- I used to be a gigantic computer nerd. Since no one thinks my skills are useful any more, and I'm too old and tired to care, I care significantly less about it. Use what you want, how you want. I don't care.
- I am not religious at all. If people want to worship something, fine, but don't take your belief and push it on other people. We do have good morals and virtues without your god and fanfiction book, thank you very much.
- I play retro video games. A lot. And by "retro" I mean games that are much older than most people who play today's style over substance "games". I believe gaming started becoming this way in the mid-1990s with games such as Mario 64, Metal Gear Solid, and Half-Life. Not that all modern games are bad (and all old games aren't good), but the general average quality of old vs. new is that old is much better than new.
- I'm aromantic. I have zero desire to spend every single day in some relationship with someone. It would be absolutely exhausting.
- I am anti-war. War is never the solution. Find peace through any means. Peace through any negotiation is far and away better than death and destruction.
- Trans women are women and trans men are men. Non-binary people are non-binary. And so on. Hatred for LGBTQIA+ people is unacceptable.
- The USA's Second Amendment to the Constitution specifically states that the right to bear arms is for a well-regulated militia, not for everyone. Ban guns for the general population. No good comes from owning a gun.
- Black Lives Matter. Get over it. "BUT ALL LIVES MATTER!" That isn't the discussion. If you're not black, you're not the ones who are being murdered by the police for your skin color.
- Abortion rights are human rights and essential to proper health care. Making abortion illegal is inhumane and wrong. Life does not begin at conception.
- The police are primarily a tool of the rich and powerful, and not a protector of the common people. We must limit their power and reach if we are to be a truly free society.
- I write short, inane poetry, fiction, and opinion pieces. This is probably a result of some latent, undiagnosed ADHD or something. It's therapeutic for me and I hope at least someone appreciates anything I write.
